While we were out

A couple of weeks ago I was able to attend girl's camp with my darling daughters.

While they were out and hiked forever and a year and wandered all over the countryside, I was peacefully hanging out in this cabin making memories with other girls who were busily creating crafty projects.

One of our simplest projects was this vinyl on mirror.

On Monday Earl sent me a text with this picture attached. The text said simply: "K, just hanging out." I showed this to Jessica & Stacie the next morning and they asked, "What are Nathan & 'Kenzie doing?" My response: "What are they doing it on?" Yep. While we were out, Earl removed the old cook top and wired in our new stove & oven. Baking, anyone?

While we were at camp, we were entertained by Sis. Betts, Bro. Pennington & Sis. McClain. The were showing us exactly how to get ready for girl's camp. Too bad that Sis. Grosman, Bro. Marvin & Sis. Smith were behind the "curtain" being their arms. The brethren really need more practice applying lipstick.

While we were laughing ourselves sick at camp over the antics of our leaders, McKenzie, Porter & Nathan got to put on these cool "Mormon Helping Hands" vests and assist with the clean up at Metra Park from Billings' Father's Day tornado. Beside the reward of service, they were also given free tickets to the upcoming fair. Wahoo!

While these girls dutifully studied their scriptures each morning, their leaders had a "pow-wow" to coordinate for the days activities. On one particular morning, Sister Jordan entertained us all with her amazing Spanish translation of Sister Olsen's confusion.

While on our way home, I stopped to get pictures of the wind mills for Stacie. Our vehicle load of sleep-deprived, sugar-hyped campers decided to do the chicken dance for on-coming traffic (what little traffic there is to be seen in Judith Gap, Montana). They got 1 "thumbs-up" and 1 "honk".

After we got home Thursday night, I convinced Earl to take the family to the drive-in. We were waiting for the show to start, so Jessica & Stacie started teaching the others a new song we had learned called "The Jellyfish". While they were singing, a Suburban load came past us and yelled out "We busted you doing the Jellyfish!" One of Jessica's 1st year campers was coming to enjoy the same show as us.
And now you know what happened "while we were out".

My house is next. When are you guys coming this way? I need a new stove top in the worst way. Sounds like girls camp was a lot of fun.
