Fantastic Friday and Fall Ball

It's been awhile since I posted. Here's what's been keeping me busy, besides my children: About 3 weeks ago I received a phone call asking if I would help with crafts for our ward's Fantastic Friday. Sure. So, this is some of what I came up with and we made last Friday night.

Snowmen ornaments: My kids called the one on the left the "painted" snowman, and the one on the right was the "melted" snowman. The right one has black pom-poms and orange foam inside to be his "melted" face.

They say that the highest for of flattery is imitation. I'm really guilty of a lot flattery then, because most of my ideas were tweaked versions of something I found on-line. I've been told that this little snowman guy can be made with a 2x4 and an old sock for his hat. *Note: Since this picture was taken, I have snipped the top part of his "hat" to make it look like a pom-pom.

The hardest part of this project was finding someone who could cut our vinyl and get it back to us in time for our event. A local business, Sign Pro, came through big time! This project seriously only takes 5 minutes, and that's if you polish the plate first AND spend a lot of time talking to your neighbor.

This was our most popular project. We had 36 of these signed up for, and could probably have sold another 15 if I would have had the vinyl and wood available! Earl cut every piece of this project, including the parts you can't see. Nathan, McKenzie & Porter sanded all of the little "letter blocks". A lot of work, but so worth it if the ladies enjoyed themselves!

Hannah (left) and Stacie all dressed up to go the the RMCC homeschooler's "Fall Ball". The girls spent the morning Saturday with dance instruction and then went back for the "Ball" later that evening. It was a formal night (complete with a "Grand March" and a dance card.) Unfortunately, the boys in attendance were overcome with the girls' beauty and did not work up the courage to actually dance with either of these beautiful ladies.

My little girl is getting pretty grown up. *tear*
