Shopping

Hello. I'm not dead. I'm not quitting the whole "blog" business. I've just been busy. It's December. I work in a retail enviroment. That should explain it all. However, I still have to do other things, like clean the house (not very clean right now), taxi children (thank goodness Jessica has a license and can help with that), fix meals (we can't eat leftovers if I don't make something in the first place), and buy groceries (which is why I'm posting tonight).

I ventured into our neighborhood IGA this afternoon with all 5 children in tow. No, I was not needing medication, I was needing groceries. See, the local IGA was running a 1 day sale on items that we needed to stock up on. However, they were also limiting quantities on these items to 2 per customer. Yep, you guessed it! I handed each child a list and some cash and told them to go become a customer. Here are our amazing results:

12 -5 lb. bags of flour
6 - 2 lb. bags of powdered sugar
6 - 2 lb. bags of brown sugar
4 dozen eggs
6 -16 oz. bags of frozen veggies
12 - 2 lb. blocks of cheddar cheese (thank heavens for the food processor and the freezer!)
12.62 lbs. of apples
3 bags of chocolate chips
2 -8 oz. packages cream cheese

Total spent: $76.92.
Total savings: $62.49 (Not counting the apples, because they didn't have the regular price listed on my receipt. But, at 49 cents/pound, I wasn't about to pass them up!)

Not bad for 30 minutes, huh?
